Cutter suction dredgers are designed to dredge compact and hard soils and clays at depth. This makes the cutter dredger an essential and powerful tool in many dredging and marine operations.
Neptune has developed its own line of stationary, on request seagoing, cutter suction dredgers. Our rugged designs ensure reliable, safe and efficient performance. Designed to perform. Standard CSD’s are available up to a suction diameter of 500 mm. Over 500 mm, we custom build high performance cutters for customers. Neptune CSD’s can all be provided with state of the art non-nuclear density measurement equipment and dredging software. Further performance can be enhance with the selection for a standard spud pontoon.

Working with cutter dredgers
Cutter dredgers are used to dredge materials from a sea- or lakebed by cutting hard soils into small fragments with a rotating cutter head. Their performance depend on many variables e.g.; Wind & Waves, composition and toughness of the soil and also distance to dump site.
To optimise production Neptune provides the full package. Not only the CSD, but also (floating) booster stations, floating pipelines (Rubber, Steel & HDPE), floats, and spray and loading pontoons.
Neptune can assist in the evaluation of the equipment required for the project and assist in the mobilisation and demobilisation of the project.
Euro E series; Electric – Environment
All our Euro series cutters can be provided in an emission free electric powered version. In this solution the dredge pump, hydraulic unit and winches are electrically powered, in the custom you are used to but now fed by a single power cord to shore. We can also provide the cutter drive in an electric powered execution to minimize the risk of hydraulic oil contamination when working in an environmental sensitive area. This allows you to first power the dredger with assistance of e.g. generator units, switch to a grid based solution in a later stage.
